OECD: WISE – The Centre on Well-Being, Inclusion, Sustainability and Equal opportunities
July 2024 - July 2026
Centering the well-being of people and the planet in the functioning of economic systems requires more than simple add-ons to existing economic policy practice. It necessitates new modes of economic thinking, supported by new forms of data, evidence and analysis, and fostering new ways of designing and implementing solutions, that can overcome traditional policy silos and encourage more collaborative and effective ways of working across government, across organisations and across society. The OECD is an international organisation working with governments, policymakers and citizens to establish evidence-based international standards and concrete policy recommendations to global, regional and domestic challenges. OECD provides a unique forum and knowledge hub for data and analysis, exchange of experiences, best-practice sharing, and policy advice with and among high-level policy makers in key government ministries, agencies and central banks.
This P4NE grant will support OECD Centre on Well-Being, Inclusion, Sustainability and Equal opportunities (WISE) which generates new data and approaches to improve people’s well-being and reduce inequalities, and better understand the impact of policies and business actions on people’s lives today and in the future. P4NE grant also covers OECD Economics Department by providing seed capital to convene the meetings and follow-up events as well as support for the production of policy-focused notes and background documents providing the empirical or scientific underpinnings.
P4NE has previously supported the OECD’s New Approaches to Economic Challenges (NAEC) with two consecutive grants (2018-2022) totalling $545,000.
Grant Awarded: $120,000
